Abstract

In the article, the phenomenon of batyrship is examined within the cultural modus of time, with a focus on its role in shaping the national identity of the Kazakh people. The tradition of batyrship is interpreted as an important cultural phenomenon that reflects the national spiritual code, cultural unity, and historical continuity. The phenomenon of batyrship represents a cultural dialogue of time, in which the past and present are interconnected, revealing the unity of national consciousness and historical experience.

The article seeks to answer the question: in what ways has the image of Kazakh batyrs been represented in different temporal modi, and how does it influence the formation of national memory?

The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of batyrship in the context of the cultural modus of time and to identify its historical and cultural representation.

In the theoretical part of the study, the phenomenon of batyrship is considered through the prism of historical events, various discourses, and the concepts of historical and cultural memory.

In the empirical part, monuments erected in honor of batyrs who demonstrated heroism on the path to the country’s independence are analyzed, including those dedicated to Er Zhanibek Berdauletuly, Malaisary Toktawuly, Shakshak Zhanibek Koshkaruly, Akzholtai Agibai, and Kanzhygaly Bogenbai.

The photographic materials and accompanying information used in the article were obtained during field research conducted in Northern and Central Kazakhstan.
