Abstract

Abstract. This article presents a literature review on settlement development (settlements, areas and agglomerations, belts and axes). This is a rare example of interdisciplinary research. A thematic systematization of primarily Russian-language publications has been completed, with the main themes representing a model for current research topics. The aim of the study is to demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of border settlement research with the active participation of socio-economic geography.
