Abstract

Annotation: The priority direction of reforming the national education system is the training of highly qualified specialists characterized by competitiveness and the ability to make independent decisions. In today's dynamic society, the acquisition of a purely theoretical base by students is becoming insufficient; flexibility and rapid adaptation to a new system of social relations are required to achieve professional success. In this regard, the concept of competence has taken a central place in the assessment of student qualifications in higher education in recent years. The article examines the influence of the competence-based approach on the personal and professional growth of future specialists in the conditions of the modern higher school. Analyzing new paradigms for evaluating educational outcomes, the author substantiates the importance of personal and social skills in the development of students' professional mobility. In the course of the study, the concept of 'competence' is examined from an interdisciplinary perspective, and its role in the realization of a specialist's internal potential is determined. As the main conclusion of the work, it is proved that competence is not merely a collection of academic knowledge, but a complex capability of the individual that ensures successful functioning in a volatile environment.
