SPECIES COMPOSITION AND ABUNDANCE OF ROTATORIA CLASS REPRESENTATIVES IN BRUSYANOYE LAKE
Abstract
Annotation. This article examines the species composition and abundance of Rotatoria class representatives in Brusyanoye Lake. The study identified 16 taxa, with the majority represented by the order Transversiramida. At three selected stationary stations, the average biomass and abundance were calculated for each season. In winter, the average biomass was 0,235 million mg/m³, and the average abundance was 8,96 thousand ind./m³. In spring, the biomass reached 1,668 million mg/m³, and the abundance was 39,2 thousand ind./m³, with Keratella cochlearis, Keratella quadrata, Polyarthra longiremis, Polyarthra luminosa, and Asplanchna sieboldi being dominant. In summer, the biomass was 1,517 million mg/m³, and the abundance was 34,3 thousand ind./m³, with numerical dominance of Keratella cochlearis, Branchionus angularis, and Branchionus calyciflorus. In autumn, biomass reached 1,311 million mg/m³, abundance 38,7 thousand ind./m³, with Transversiramida representatives remaining dominant. The obtained data reflect the seasonal dynamics of the Rotatoria community and the ecological adaptation of leading species.
