PROBLEMS OF RESEARCH OF MUSICAL FOLKLORE AND GROUPS OF THE TATAR PEOPLE

Abstract

Abstract. This article examines the musical folklore and traditions of the Tatar people from ethnomusicological and ethnographic perspectives. The primary goal of the study is to identify the genre characteristics of Tatar musical culture and analyze its connection with the traditional musical heritage of the Turkic peoples, particularly the Kazakh and Nogai peoples, using a comparative method. The study utilizes historical and ethnographic data, musical and folklore materials, and expedition records.

This article analyzes Tatar folk songs, mourning customs, lullabies, children's songs, folk songs, and musical fragments from wedding and funeral rites. It also examines the musical folklore of the Astrakhan Tatars, their dialectal characteristics, and their connection to the Nogai-Kipchak cultural space. The study describes the poetic and musical structure of Tatar melodies, their modal and rhythmic features, performance traditions, and improvisational nature.

The work also explores Tatar choreographic folklore, analyzing the content, structure, and sociocultural function of ritual dances such as "Kiyausy" and "Akchatyr." Furthermore, it describes festive traditions, national cuisine, tea drinking culture, wedding ceremonies, and ethnocultural customs preserved in the diaspora.

The study's results demonstrated that ancient layers of Tatar musical folklore were preserved in ritual ceremonies and developed in close connection with the shared cultural foundation of the Turkic peoples. It was also demonstrated that, in the context of modern globalization, the preservation, systematization, and scientific study of Tatar musical and choreographic heritage is a key area of ​​ethnomusicology.

Thus, the musical folklore of Tatar ethnic groups is an important cultural heritage, reflecting the historical path, traditions, and worldview of the people. Its study allows us to identify the characteristics of the formation of national identity and intercultural contacts. At the same time, preserving these traditions requires systematic research, support for cultural initiatives, and the transmission of knowledge to new generations.
