Abstract

Abstract. The article analyzes the features and effectiveness of the systematic application of the principle of regionalization in teaching population geography. The theoretical part defines the content, competence, and pedagogical and technological aspects of regional studies and demonstrates the possibilities of their integration with the life experience of students. The empirical study was conducted in the city of Aktobe. The study was conducted in the 11th grade of secondary school No. 29. The results of the survey and observation of lessons showed that the content of regional studies significantly increased students' interest in the subject, their active participation in discussions, and their skills in working with maps and diagrams. In addition, the article identifies a lack of methodological resources and a shortage of specific regional material in educational documents. The article offers practical recommendations for creating a database of local resources, the systematic use of digital cartography such as GIS, refining assessment indicators, and improving teacher qualifications.
