LABOR EDUCATION OF SOVIET SCHOOLCHILDREN IN KAZAKHSTAN AS A TOOL FOR THE FORMATION OF VALUE ORIENTATIONS IN THE 1950S
Abstract
The article analyzes labor education of schoolchildren in the Kazakh SSR as an important element of state educational policy in the second half of the twentieth century. The study examines the goals, forms, and content of students’ labor activities in the context of ideological guidelines and socio-economic objectives of the state. The source base of the research includes archival materials, normative documents, and publications of the period under study. The aim of the article is to identify the role of labor education in shaping the value orientations of the younger generation and its place within the system of school education. Historical and systemic methods were employed, making it possible to trace the evolution of approaches to organizing school labor from the post-war years to the beginning of the perestroika period. It is concluded that labor education functioned not only as a means of preparation for productive activity but also as an important mechanism of socialization and ideological influence.
