THE SPECIFICS OF LISTENING AS A COMPONENT OF PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

Abstract

The article delves into the significance of listening as an integral aspect of professional practice. The authors contend that the training of prospective instructors of foreign languages and those who impart knowledge through the medium of a foreign language should encompass the development of pedagogical listening skills as part of their oral assessment repertoire. They highlight that the competencies required for oral evaluation by foreign language educators may diverge from those necessities for educators in other fields. Further investigation is warranted to delve into strategies for fostering these skills among learners in pedagogical institutions and through intensive courses designed for non-philological teachers.
